How much is the Shipping and Handling Charge?
Shipping and handling is included in the postage price.
Do you ship Internationally?
We mostly ship within Australia and New Zealand but international shipping can be arranged.
How do you pack items?
All 1:18 scale items are packed in an Australia Post BP box with foam chip to ensure safe arrival.
If there is more than 1 item a suitable box is provided and packed with bubble wrap or foam chip.
All 1:43 and 1:64 scale items are bubble wrapped and packed in a small box with foam chip or suitable packing material.
Diecast Model Cars are manufactured to various scales based on measurements taken from their real road going equivalents.
In Australia, the most popular scale is 1:18, or in simple terms, a model 18 times smaller than its road going equivalent. A 1:18th is about the same length as a tissue box.
Biante also manufacture cars in 1:43 and 1:64 scale. As you can see from the above graphic, 1:43 is under half the size of a 1:18 model, coming in at around 10 centimetres long (think of it as about as long as a standard Mobile Phone). A 1:64th is smaller again, and is more around the size of a traditional "Matchbox" car.
Remember however, just because the models get smaller, doesn't mean their detail is reduced. All models produced by Biante are designed to be Collectors Items and as such, are not suitable for small children as they do contain small parts.
Here is a rough guide to the size of model cars although this will vary depending on the size of the actual vehicle being replicated:
1:64 scale will be approximately 6cm long
1:43 scale will be approximately 10cm long
1:18 scale will be approximately 20-30cm long
Always remember, the higher the scale, the smaller the model.
Important Points regarding Model Care.
- We recommend you remove any stickers used to hold down bonnets etc placed by the manufacturer to protect the model in shipping in case they effect the finish over time
- We strongly suggest you do not wrap models in tissues. Tissues can often stick to paintwork and decals over time and can prove to be very difficult to remove. This is a particularly important consideration with respect to hand built models or models using water lift transfers.
- You should pay attention to the tyres of models stored out of their packaging, especially models stored on glass shelves. Models with softer tyres (especially hand built models) are susceptible to getting flat spots which are difficult to impossible to repair. There are purpose made products that support the models but you would probably find a piece of corrugated cardboard cut to size to rase the wheels off the ground just as good without being apparent within your display case.
